Day 2 Zurich to Interlaken

At a time of your choosing head to Zurich Hbf for a direct train to Interlaken. Located in the heart of the Bernese Oberland and between 2 lakes, Interlaken is a great base for exploring the breathtaking surrounding mountains. Check-in for a 2-night stay, then perhaps enjoy fondue at one of Interlaken’s great local restaurants? (Overnight Interlaken) B

Day 3 Jungfrau Day Trip

Climb to Europe’s highest altitude railway station on Jungfrau Mountain, at a colossal 11,332 feet high. It’s your choice on the day which route you take, but our suggestion is the scenic train ride up via Lauterbrunnen and Kliene Scheidegg, then on your way back down the mountain ride the spectacular Eiger Express gondola to Grindelwald, then train back to Interlaken. At the Jungfraujoch peak itself take in the breath-taking views of the Black Forest in Germany and the Vosges Mountains in France. Also enjoy the fascinating glacier and ice gallery at the top. After a spectacular day sightseeing, return to the hotel for the second night of your stay in Interlaken. (Overnight in Interlaken) B

Day 4 Interlaken to Zermatt

Hop on then train and enjoy the amazing scenery between Interlaken and Visp, then onto Zermatt which is your home for the next 2 nights. (Overnight Zermatt) B

Day 5 Gornergrat Day Trip

Take a ride on the Gornergrat Cog Railway, which climbs from 5,262 feet above sea level to 10,135 feet in just 33 minutes and is a marvel of 19th Century engineering. From the top, enjoy one of the most spectacular panoramas in all of Switzerland, taking in the iconic outline of the Matterhorn as well as surrounding peaks and glaciers. (Overnight in Zermatt)

Day 6 The Glacier Express

Enjoy the exhilarating experience of crossing Switzerland today, travelling the full length of the Glacier Express line. The train passes glistening blue lakes and quaint Swiss hamlets, as well as crossing numerous high passes and mountain peaks. Take pictures of the spectacular Landwasser Viaduct as the train rolls over. You will experience all the “Oohs” and “Aahs” you expected before boarding. On arrival in St. Moritz , make your way to your hotel and check-in for one night then enjoy your evening by the lake. (Overnight in St. Moritz ) B

Day 7 The Bernina Express

After breakfast, embark on one of the world’s most scenic train lines, the Bernina Express! You can expect a spectacular journey. The Bernina Express features awe-inspiring scenery changes so make sure your camera batteries are fully charged because you are guaranteed to capture some amazing shots from the comfort of the panoramic carriages of the train. Day 8 Milan to Lake Garda

Take the direct rail journey from Milan to Desenzano, and from here the short cab ride to beautiful Sirmione. Treat yourself to an indulgent day exploring the boutique shops and restaurants of Sirmione or enjoying city views from the nearby Torre di San Martino. (Overnight Sirmione) B

Day 9 Lake Garda

Enjoy a relaxing day exploring the Roman ruins at Grotte di Catullo and Scaliger Castle, In the evening watch the sunset onboard your private boat with a glass of Prosecco, then return

Day 10 Lake Garda to Lake Como

From Desenzano take the train to Milan, then onto Como. Once checked in perhaps take the funicular railway up to Brunate for panoramic views or why not just sit at a lakeside bar and take in the striking scenery. You may also want to wander around the shops and boutiques or visit one of the many cultural monuments the city has to offer. (Overnight in Como) B

Day 11 Lake Como

Today, experience the beauty of Lake Como from the water with an included two-hour boat tour. Day 12 Lake Como to Lake Maggiore

Travel from Como via Milan to Stresa, where you can experience beautiful Lake Maggiore. Like other northern Italian lakes, Lake Maggiore is an idyllic spot that has attracted visitors since the beginning of the 18th century. Day 13 Lake Maggiore

On the shores of the Borromean Gulf, Stresa is ideally situated as a base to explore the lake’s villages, islands, and natural beauty. A regular ferry runs from the town around the lake, and the Isola Bella, the most well-known of the Borromean Islands, is only ten minutes away by boat. Stresa itself is a lovely little lakeside town with many markets and historical churches. (Overnight in Stresa) B

Day 14 Stresa to Rome

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, then take the direct train to Rome and check into your hotel for a two-night stay, then set off to start exploring. Perhaps enjoy an ice-cold gelato by the bustling Trevi Fountain and simply watch Roman life go by. Visit the mesmerizing Pantheon or stroll over to the Vatican and admire the colossal St Peters Basilica. Day 15 Rome

After breakfast, enjoy your Imperial Rome tour including the Forum and Colosseum then why not visit the Spanish Steps or stroll through the wide-open spaces of the Villa Borghese. Spend your evenings sampling the delicious Italian cuisine of Rome. Stop for a traditional wood-oven pizza in one of the charming trattorias or enjoy beautiful homemade pasta and regional desserts such as ricotta cake, made with fresh ricotta cheese mixed with sugar, vanilla, and candied fruits.
